This is an exciting opportunity to join RBC BlueBay, investment management business of RBC Global Asset Management, on a 6-month Fixed term contract as an Associate Director, External Communications. This role supports external communications across EMEA APAC, but also supports award submissions and executive communications, including personal social media accounts. RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- Manage media relations activities: draft / review press releases and manage sign-off procedures.
- Direct media enquiries to relevant spokespeople, assisting with written responses to media requests and collate press coverage.
- Establish and build relationships with both spokespeople and key journalists (tier one and trade press) to aid efforts at proactive media engagement. This includes briefing, facilitating, and managing media interactions.
- Keep abreast of news cycle, spotting tactical opportunities to raise the firm’s profile, leverage spokesperson expertise and promote key products.
- Manage day-to-day activities with suite of PR agencies (UK, Germany, Italy, Nordics) and attend PR agency meetings and calls.
- Proactively pitch to Iberian press according to business priorities in the region.
- Be responsible for the maintenance of the RBC BlueBay Awards log, draft and manage the submissions process for awards entered by RBC BlueBay.
- Promote key press coverage internally and on RBC BlueBay website (liaising with PR agencies and digital agencies).
- Where necessary, cover the Associate Director, Communications and Engagement with drafting, editing, and sending internal communications and intranet updates.

- Experience of working in financial services, preferably within investment management.
