As a member of the RBC Chief Financial Office (CFO) Group in Europe, your purpose will be to support the Capital Markets and Wealth Management Europe platform finance teams to uphold the highest standards in controls and governance that underpin the control framework. You will support the European CFO and senior leadership team while collaborating with global and regional operational and functional groups across business platforms, including RBC Capital Markets, Investor Services and Wealth Management. This role provides an ideal opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the Finance Function within the CFO Group. It is a full‑time position requiring a minimum of four days in the office per week, with one day of optional work from home.
What will you do?
- Support the collation of committee packs and meeting minutes, including Finance Function Reports, Finance Executive Committee and Attestation Committee, and compile financial results, key control indicators, conduct and operational risks events, and FTE metrics, while providing analytical review and challenge.
- Coordinate operational effectiveness reviews of governance frameworks, SOX controls, risk dashboards, intra‑group and technology operational/service level agreements, regulatory requirements, and introduce transformative control environment enhancements and/or efficiencies.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual attestations and certifications for CFO Europe and senior leadership team, including SOX, Senior Accounting Officer and EUDA.
- Seek updates from functional areas on the completeness and accuracy of processes and associated controls, provide analytical review and challenge, create action plans and documentation, and present findings for certification.
- Develop and manage high‑quality presentations, reports, briefing notes and other communications supporting CFO Europe and senior leadership team as required.
- Assist the team in progressing Controls and Governance‑related projects from initiation and prioritisation through to execution.
What do you need to succeed?
- Finance qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
- Proven experience in banking and financial services within a large or top‑tier UK financial institution.
- Experience working in Change Management within Finance, Business Management, or Controls & Governance.
- Strong understanding of the key risks and the controls and governance mechanisms of a Finance Function.
- Strong stakeholder management and inter‑personal skills, with a good track record of dealing with senior and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and effective writing and reporting skills.
