What is the opportunity?
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for supporting the ongoing management, governance and reporting processes of the RCM (Regulatory Compliance Management) program for Europe across the two segments (CM & WM) and their lines of business in the region and ensure that RBC Europe\’s RCM remains current, accurate and consistent with approach taken as part of the global RCM program. It will also provide oversight of the governance and reporting processes for other Asia Pacific RCM programs.
The role will provide support as required to the Compliance COO, Europe and APAC, in relation to other regulatory/compliance matters.
This position is full time and will require you to work a minimum of 4 days in the office per week with the option to work one day from home.
What will you do?
- Provide ongoing support and assistance to the various European Compliance Teams, (Compliance Oversight & Advice Teams, Regulatory Developmenmt Team, Monitoring & Testing, Employee Compliance) and the 1LOD with the Control Standards and the Technology that relates to the 4 RCM pillars; Regulatory Content, Risk Assessments, Monitoring & Testing and Issues Management.
- Support the maintenance and updates to the Regulatory Content inventories for jurisdictions in Europe, including the oversight and execution of change requests.
- Support the production of the RCM Governance Committee materials, assist with the presentation and provide oversight by minuting the meetings.
- Support the development and enhancement of insightful reporting and metrics.
- Assisting the delivery of training, answering ad hoc questions, extracting and preparing reports, facilitating discussions between Compliance teams, liaising with Regional Compliance Teams and Enterprise Compliance.
- Support the maintenance and submission of user access to key Compliance tools and SharePoint.
- Liaise with the teams across Europe & APAC Compliance in order to support the inputs into Quarterly CCO Opinion reporting.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Highly proficient with MS Excel – VBA, graphing, pivoting, formulae
- Highly proficient with PowerPoint – simplifying and distilling information to develop high impact presentations.
- Delivery focused, comfortable with hard deadlines
- Ability to assimilate large amounts of information and get to the core of the issue
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at different levels within an organization
- Ability to conduct duties expediently, multi-task in a fast paced environment, aptitude for accuracy, attention to detail, and hands-on approach
- Proactive self-starter
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Nice-to-have
- Experience of working in an investment bank or wealth / asset management firm
- Experience working as part of, or in close conjunction with, a Compliance team
- Working knowledge of European and UK regulatory environment
- Possess a Bachelor\’s Degree from an accredited college or university
