What is the opportunity?
This position is a 12 month FTC maternity cover working predominantly out of our 12 Smithfield Street, London office.
RBC\’s expectation is that from mid-September 2025, all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- To support the Senior Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller, and the wider Management Accounts Team, to deliver the monthly financial result.
- To be responsible for monthly income reporting, understanding, and taking ownership of the numbers and able to explain them with meaningful messaging.
- To report, comment and then explain the numbers to key stakeholders (both internally and externally to Finance).
- To take full responsibility for certain sections of the P&L and B/S and to be regarded as the \’expert\’ amongst your peers.
- Business partnering with Front Office functions and branch heads, demonstrating complete understanding of their performance.
- Complete and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and navigate across both RBC & RBCBD systems for attestation.
- Aiding with the half and full year audits.
- To participate in the annual Budget and 5 year Plan.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA (passed finalist/0-2yrs qualified).
- Working in a high-paced deadline driven environment.
- Excel – Advanced general user, pivot tables and IF statements.
- A keen eye for detail and an inquisitive mind.
- Finance systems – TM1, Pegasus Opera GL, generic General Ledgers and reporting systems experience (Power BI).
Nice-to-have
- Experience in Power BI.
- Knowledge of Financial Services.
