Building a sustainable tomorrow. BAM are currently looking to recruit a Senior Document Controller to join our EGL2 Peterhead team. Being part of this team, you will play a key part in delivering large civil engineering projects which will provide critical infrastructure to enable future, renewable developments across Scotland.

BAM operates a flexible working policy. A living away allowance will be provided for working away from home along with other package benefits. The expectation is for this role to be based out of our Peterhead site office; however, if required, hybrid working options can be discussed with the successful candidate.

As Senior Document Controller, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting and guiding the site document controllers with daily tasks.
  • Review and implement new and existing processes with the Document Control Manager and discipline leads.
  • Establish and maintain accurate computer and paper-based document filing systems and records, ensuring distributed information is logged.
  • Review and distribute documents in line with agreed departmental procedures ensuring responses, where required, are received in line with review periods and distributed to the correct team members once received.
  • Carry out regular audits of the CDE folders and uploaded information, challenging discrepancies when necessary.
  • Support the production and coordination of handover packages.
  • Conduct periodic archiving.
  • Provide training and support to all users of the CDE to ensure processes and standards are being adhered to.
  • Work with the other EGL2 Document Controllers to ensure document control procedures are kept up to date, are aligned and any changes are driven out to the teams.
  • Build relationships with Document Controllers from our JV Partner and Client to support collaborative working.
  • Remain up to date with all company policies and procedures, industry legislation and guidance applicable to your subject field.

What do you bring to the role?

  • Successful experience of working in document control, preferably within the construction industry (highways/rail/energy etc), either currently in a senior role or as a document controller looking to advance in their career.
  • A self-starting, motivated and analytic individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working within a Common Data Environment (CDE), i.e. Autodesk Forma, BIM360, Aconex, ViewPoint for Projects.
  • Experience working in handover stages of a project.
  • An understanding of ISO 19650 and how it is applied to projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of operating IT systems, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
