Building a sustainable tomorrow. KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland. BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and is seeking a Cost Manager. As Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing and controlling project costs to ensure that the project is delivered within the agreed budget while meeting quality and time requirements.
Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required – a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.
Making Possible
- Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and develop realistic budgets based on project scope.
- Skilled in analyzing cost data, forecasting expenses, and generating clear financial reports for stakeholders.
- Understanding of contract types, terms, and how to manage payments, variations, and claims.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and negotiation skills to obtain best value for materials and services.
- Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cost-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Careful review of costs, invoices, and change orders to avoid errors and ensure accuracy.
- Clear and effective communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and team members; ability to negotiate costs and resolve disputes.
- Understanding project timelines, deliverables, and integration of cost management within overall project controls.
- Strong grasp of the specific industry (construction, engineering) including materials, methods, and regulations.
