We're looking for an inspiring and relationship-focused Sector Client Director to join our Social Infrastructure, Nuclear and Defence sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of some of the UK's most important infrastructure programmes, with a particular focus on the rapidly growing Defence and Water sectors.

Working at the intersection of strategy, client relationships and sustainable growth, you'll play a key role in delivering projects that Protect our Communities, supporting national resilience and security, environmental sustainability and public wellbeing.

You'll help strengthen BAM's trusted partnerships, influence future opportunities and create lasting value for clients and communities alike.

As a member of the Sector Senior Leadership Team, you'll work collaboratively with Business Unit Directors across BAM and with external partners to shape opportunities, bring diverse teams together and champion a client-centred approach to growth.

You'll report to the Sector Managing Director, with a matrix reporting line to the Head of Key Accounts, and will have the opportunity to influence decision-making at the highest levels across both BAM and our client organisations.

As Sector Client Director, you'll lead BAM's relationship-driven approach to growth, helping us better understand client challenges, identify opportunities and create solutions that deliver long-term value.

  • Lead BAM's relationship-led growth strategy across the Social Infrastructure, Nuclear and Defence Sector, with an initial priority focus on the Defence market followed by water.
  • Act as Client Relationship Lead for selected strategic accounts, whilst coaching and supporting Client Relationship Leads across the sector.
  • Drive early client engagement and opportunity shaping, ensuring BAM is well positioned to influence and secure priority projects.
  • Enhance BAM's profile and reputation across target sectors through visible leadership, market engagement and industry participation.
  • Develop and maintain strong networks across government departments, public bodies, frameworks and industry organisations to strengthen market intelligence and influence.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Communications and Pre-Construction teams to deliver targeted sector and account-based engagement strategies.
  • Provide strategic insight on market trends, policy developments and investment priorities.
  • Develop trusted partnerships with strategic clients, stakeholders, regulators and industry leaders.
  • Shape opportunities early by understanding client priorities and bringing together the right expertise from across BAM.
  • Create and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities that supports the BAM strategy for sustainable business growth on focus markets.
  • Champion the voice of the client, ensuring feedback and insight contribute to continuous improvement and better outcomes.
  • Strengthen BAM's reputation through active engagement in industry forums, networks and thought leadership activities.
  • Support and mentor Client Relationship Leads, helping to build capability and consistency across the sector.
  • Foster collaboration across BAM's segments and business units to provide seamless, client-focused solutions.
  • Act as an ambassador for BAM, representing our values and expertise across the Social Infrastructure, Nuclear and Defence sector.
  • Support the leadership team in delivering sustainable growth while maintaining our commitment to safety, quality and social value.

  • Confidence engaging with public sector organisations, government bodies, regulators and industry partners.
  • Excellent communication, listening and influencing skills.

  • The ability to work effectively within regulated, secure or complex environments.
