Building a sustainable tomorrow. BAM Site Solutions are recruiting a Plant Mechanic Supervisor based in Morley, West Yorkshire. Executing within a team, the operational role and activities will be part of a busy workshop working internally and occasionally externally on BAM / Client Projects. Working within the Operational Team to continually improve our safety, systems, processes and provide continued training and product knowledge.

A challenging role requiring commitment and dedication, self-motivation, and the ability to service and repair a variety of plant and equipment while resolving any mechanical issues. Carry out workplace risk assessments independently and with the team, communicating effectively with supervisors and management. Resolve technical issues on plant and equipment, sharing knowledge and using initiative on-site. Complete and record regular plant inspections and scheduled servicing to manufacturer specifications, maintaining internal plant to Site Solutions standards. Conduct on- and off-hire PDI inspections and pre-through examinations when required, providing accurate data and records.

Carry out workshop equipment inspections, briefings and toolbox talks. Lead familiarisation and provide guidance to apprentices and operators on safe operation and correct maintenance. Advise or seek advice on plant modifications in line with Change Control Procedures and identify opportunities for new technology. Deliver daily and weekly work programmes set by the manager and stand in for them when required.

Work collaboratively with operational teams, training, mentoring and developing others while maintaining a personal CPD record. Record all work within ACC and complete workshop inspections as instructed. Maintain a safe, tidy work area and ensure compliance with company and legislative safety and environmental requirements. Support the implementation of Everyone Safe and Well and manage working hours on-site in line with procedures.

Maintain the company vehicle and its contents to compliance standards, respond to unforeseen mechanical issues outside normal hours, and keep sufficient spare parts stocked and replenished. Carry out any additional tasks aligned with the role or requested by the manager.

Desirable but not essential: NVQ Level 2 Construction Plant Operations or Machinery Maintenance or Level 2 Construction Plant Operative Apprenticeship. You will need to hold a full Driving license.
