BAM is currently developing the Ancillary Buildings Phase 2 project heading to the construction phase at Hinkley Point C and we are seeking an experienced MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years' experience working as an MEP Quality Engineer or in the role of MEP Project Engineer in a building, architectural or infrastructure project. Experience of commissioning MEP systems is also preferred.
In this role, you will work closely with site teams to ensure the effective implementation of quality management systems and contract requirements. You will also be responsible for compiling records that demonstrate the conformity of the works with these standards.
Your team
BAM operates a flexible working policy; however, this role is predominantly site-based.
As a MEP Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Interface with package managers, subcontractors, supply chain, and design team to review the preconstruction design requirements and develop quality requirements for each package.
- Implementing and ensuring adherence to project procedures, scope, specification, Project Execution Plan (PEP), Project Quality Plan and British/International Standards.
- Detailed understanding of integrated management systems and the ability to develop or improve processes and procedures as per parent company systems and specific client/contract requirements.
- Ensure the MEP systems fulfil the specification requirements.
- Manage product traceability, including product movements, physical product checks, delivery ticket and Certificate of Conformity checks, and approving products for use onsite, material acceptance forms (MAF), Technical Submittals and Technical Procurement Specifications.
- Review quality documentation such as Lifetime Quality Records, End of Manufacturing Reports (EOMR), End of Construction Records (ECSR), End of Erection Reports (EESR), Product Approval Records and project procedures, RAMS.
- Assist Supply Chain to develop QCP/ITP and manage the Inspection Test Plans (ITP) process to ensure compliance and supporting evidence is up to date.
- Monitor the implementation of site inspections for QRA activity and Non-QRA activity to ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, drawings and specifications.
- Ensure testing frequencies and results meet project requirements.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports in line with product quarantine process, managing the NCR process on the client system and progress NCRs to conclusion.
- Investigate non-conformities and quality incidents, ensuring lessons learnt are communicated to the wider team.
- Draft communication to the client via CEMAR.
- Manage documentation production and ensure document control standards are maintained.
- Co-operate with staff and client representatives to ensure that problems of quality are solved promptly and efficiently.
- Use and manage digital systems such as Power BI tool, BIM 360 Field, Dalux, Asite, Field View for reporting, quality record management and handover.
- Conduct surveillance audits for offsite activities and QMS process review for system/subcontractors/suppliers activities during the various project lifecycle as per the approved audit schedule and assist them to close out corrective actions.
- Assist with reporting and implementation of QA processes and procedures.

- ECS/CSCS Cards – White PQP/AQP.
- Preferred Safety/Access Training – IPAF/PASMA/Working at height training.
- Standards/tests knowledge, system-specific training if applicable.
