BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Financial Services Manager – Financial Systems .

This position can be based across our Farnborough, Hemel Hempstead, or Kildare offices, with office attendance required a minimum of three days each week and frequent travel between locations.

This is a high-profile and impactful role at the heart of BAM UK & Ireland’s Financial Services function, reporting to the Financial Services Director, managing and developing the financial systems across the UK&I Division.

Acting as the strategic interface between Finance, IT, software vendors and business stakeholders.

This role is the trusted advisor to the Director of Financial Services on financial systems and a real change agent to challenge existing processes, drive continuous improvement and lead on change to future proof Financial Services.

As a senior member of the Financial Services (FS) team, you will lead the back-office Financial Systems function across the UK&I Division, responsible for leading financial systems support activities including access management, issue resolution, testing, change management and service delivery.

You will support SAP ECC and our S/4HANA transformation.

Finance systems integrations and continuous improvement initiatives.

This also includes ensuring the effective operation and governance of key financial platforms including SAP, Rydoo, Basware Alusta and associated applications.

Making Possible

This role is accountable for the following

  • Supporting an evolving Financial Services function for the UK&I Division, by challenging the status quo, focusing on leading change, and ensuring and supporting the introduction of a way of working where continuous improvement holds a central role across all Financial Systems.
  • Owning and maintaining a robust finance systems control environment, ensuring ERP, expense management and Accounts Payable automation platforms are compliant and support business objectives.
  • Act as the Finance Systems SME for SAP and associated Finance Applications and own the finance systems governance, controls and security and compliance across the finance technology landscape.
  • Lead, develop and coach the Financial Systems team, ensuring high levels of service delivery and performance.
  • Responsible for optimal and motivated staffing, both qualitatively and quantitatively, ensuring the best use of existing resources including workforce planning, cross-skilling, smarter ways of working and deploying resources effectively across Financial Services.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external business stakeholders (especially IT and software vendors) to achieve quality insights into needs and priorities and to create a platform for change.
  • Recognise and identify process bottlenecks and work with the team to ensure these are ratified.

Sharing End to End insights with stakeholders based on observations to make sure that root causes of issues are resolved and not just symptoms (process driven work).

  • Drive continuous improvement, automation and process optimisation across finance systems to improve efficiency, effectiveness of the team as well as reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strive for standardisation and a high quality of working.

Lead and/or participate in working groups to improve End to End processes and systems to enhance user experience.

  • Support Finance Transformation initiatives including SAP S/4HANA developments, integrations and deployment projects.
  • Develop and maintain the Finance Systems roadmap aligned to organisational and financial strategy.
  • Ensuring process documentation is kept up to date for reporting and audit purposes.
