BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Building Services Engineering Manager to join the London Construction Region. The role will be based from our Regional office in London, with travel required to support projects across the region.
Control and Management of all aspects of the building services regional engineering department including:
- Working with the building services team to develop and deliver Building Services strategies and policies. Influencing these to ensure work tasks and process meet ever changing regulations and contract requirements.
- Provide input into tender / project adjudications and attend client presentations / interviews.
- Develop working relationships with services consultants and cost consultants, together with traditional MEP supply chain contractors.
- Review and input on project design, procurement and CAD/BIM development programmes.
- Review and comment on project specifications, schedules, drawings and contract requirements.
- Day-to-day management of the M&E Engineering team including: Ensuring good engineering practice upheld; compliance with process/ procedures (BAM BMS), timely delivery of installation information; CAN/ Fee recovery; compliance with design information and standards; carry out engineering reviews with project teams.
- Ensure the pre-construction requirements of Design, Engineering and BIM works are completed by the relevant teams to suit installation and delivery of projects. Liaising with Building Services Construction Manager highlighting issues/good practices.
- Ensure all projects are suitably resourced, correct process and procedures used.
- Responsibility for all BIM requirements and installation drawing production: Managing the CAD /BIM output via the Building Services BIM Manager.
- Engineering and BIM technician staff recruitment requirement / liaise with other UK regions for shared resource. Manage regular staff development reviews and training requirements, setting and monitoring performance and development goals. Develop trainees and apprentices.
- Carry out regional peer reviews, promote knowledge share / lessons learned / portfolios and project case studies. Carry out project audits.
- As a member of the regional building services senior management team you will be part of regional strategic developments and work flows, championing and developing business priorities such as: Health and Safety / temporary works, MMC, modular design, DfMA, Support sustainability strategy, Net zero carbon, Nabers, Digital technology / smart buildings etc.
