Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM UK & Ireland is looking for Blasting Engineers/Trainee Blasting Engineers to join our team, supporting the Quarrying and extractive operations across all of England. This will be a hands-on role carrying out Drill and Blast duties and working alongside our blasting teams to deliver safe, efficient results. Full training program would be issued for the Trainee position.

The engineer will support day‑to‑day blasting operations across Northern England and the Midlands, including Cumbria, Lancashire, and Leicestershire. They will also be responsible for maintaining the highest safety standards and working with the Quarry Regulations 1999. This will also include designing blasts, keeping accurate records, attending production meetings, producing activity plans and risk assessments, and maintaining a personal career development plan.

Necessary:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Shotfiring Supervision
  • Level 5 Certificate in Blast Design
  • Level 3 Diploma in Shotfiring
  • Level 2 Certificate in Face Profiling
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Team player who can work on their own initiative and independently on site

Desirable:

  • Geotechnical training
  • Quarry Regulation awareness
  • Mineral Sector Safety Passport
  • Current MPQC Blasting Cards
