Overview
We are seeking to appoint a Lighting Systems Manager to lead a small team and oversee the lighting department’s equipment and systems, providing technical advice for additional equipment needs, productions, events and outside venues. The role ensures all activities are carried out to the highest standard of safety, efficiency, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead the lighting systems team, manage equipment and systems, advise on production lighting needs, support sustainable and cost‑effective solutions, and drive the department forward during Phase 2 of the Production Lighting Rig Upgrade.
Ideal Requirements
- A strong background in managing lighting systems for major professional theatres, with up‑to‑date practical experience an advantage.
- Relevant, accredited electrical training aligned with current standards such as BS7909 and BS7671 an advantage.
- A solid understanding of modern lighting equipment and systems, with an interest in emerging technologies and sustainable practices.
- The ability to interpret production needs and help shape lighting solutions, suggesting improvements to existing systems and equipment.
- Confidence using lighting industry software.
- Experience supporting and leading teams and projects to deliver high‑quality productions, with a positive, collaborative leadership approach.
- Strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy and best practice.
