Based in: Covent Garden, London with hybrid working options available
Working in tandem with the Estates Engineering Manager (Shift), you will be directly responsible for a small group of qualified engineering staff as well as specialist contractors who deliver ongoing maintenance and work on the RBO Estate. The role acts as an Authorised/Responsible Person where required and works closely with colleagues across the RBO to ensure operational needs are met daily and that the show can always go on.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a multiskilled engineering workforce across a complex Estate, with multiple sites. You will be able to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions promptly and confidently, with the integrity to handle difficult situations.
Technically, you will be able to demonstrate:
- A trade qualification to HNC level, or Mechanical/Electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 or similar.
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification (desirable).
- Strong understanding of Permit to Work systems and associated safe working practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of statutory requirements affecting estates and engineering services.
- Demonstrable technical understanding of the full range of engineering services used within the RBO.
- Relevant experience managing direct labour teams, contractors, and complex building engineering systems.
- Substantial operational management experience within estates or facilities environments.
Previous experience working with historic or heritage buildings will be highly regarded so please do reference this in your application.
