The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

The Royal Opera Company forms part of the Royal Ballet and Opera, delivering world-class opera productions. The team supports a busy programme of performances, working closely with artists, creative teams, and internal departments to ensure the smooth coordination of contracts, music administration, and production planning.

We are seeking to recruit a Contracts and Music Coordinator to join our Opera Company team. This role will provide essential administrative and coordination support across artist contracts, music operations, and production activity within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Our ideal candidate will be a highly organised and detail-oriented administrator with an interest in the performing arts. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working to tight deadlines, and handling confidential information with professionalism. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a performing arts, theatre, or similarly complex organisation
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience supporting contractual or coordination processes
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Experience organising events, auditions, or similar activities
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems (e.g. databases, HR/payroll systems)
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work, both independently and as part of a team
