We run two world‑class companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.
Apprenticeship Scheme – Fixed Term Contract (2 years)

- Creative Venue Technician Apprentice – 3 vacancies
- Sound, Video and Broadcast Technician Apprentice – 1 vacancy
Starting September 2026. Salary: £25,336.80 per annum for 42.5 hours per week, based in Covent Garden, London.
About the Apprenticeship
The 2‑year fixed‑term, full‑time (42.5 h week) apprenticeship will be based at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. You will work alongside our backstage teams and study at the College Training Provider, Creative Alliance. The apprenticeship is Level 3 Production Technician standard, with pathways in Creative Venue Technician or Live Event Technician.

Pay & College Fees
You will receive the National Living Wage, which increases by 2.5 % after the first year. Apprentices should use this to cover travel to work and college. College fees are paid by the Royal Ballet and Opera.
Eligibility
- 18 years old or over by 31 August 2026.
- Work authorisation for the UK.
- Ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the three consecutive years prior to the programme start.
- No completed degree or equivalent qualification in the UK or elsewhere.
- No professional technical backstage experience exceeding six months.
