We are now seeking a Deputy Head of Motoring to join our bustling Motoring team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a genuine passion for motoring and motorsport to support the Head of Motoring in shaping and delivering a prestigious and wide-ranging programme of activity.

Purpose

Responsible for supporting the Head of Motoring in overseeing and further developing the Club’s fast-paced portfolio of motoring activities, while proactively researching and cultivating new opportunities and partnerships to enhance the Club’s profile within the motoring and motorsport scene.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Head of Motoring to deliver the Club’s motoring strategy.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Motoring events calendar, from research and concept development through to delivery and execution.
  • Manage the budget for all events and lead post-event reconciliation processes, including structured debriefs with all stakeholders.
  • Line manage direct reports, including holding review meetings and providing day-to-day supervision.
  • Develop and deliver robust marketing and promotional plans across all appropriate channels for Motoring events and activities.
  • Oversee the Club’s Motoring communications and external PR programme across appropriate media channels.
  • Build a strong understanding of Club members’ needs through effective customer relationship management and engagement.

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of, and passion for, the automotive industry and motorsport.
  • Extensive experience in planning, organising and delivering large-scale events.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including industry partnerships, sponsor programmes, cross-platform digital activation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Broad experience in media and communications.
  • Effective team leadership, including coordination, performance management, and professional development.
  • Owing to the events calendar, attendance is required on numerous weekends and evenings events throughout the year.
  • Confident presenting to and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong forward-planning capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with strong awareness of event industry trends and innovation.
