As the Club’s on-site plumbing specialist, the role will work independently and provide technical ownership of plumbing issues, records, stock and contractor support. When plumbing workload permits, the role will also assist the wider Engineering team with routine general maintenance tasks across the clubhouse. The position is primarily dayshift and includes participation in the out-of-hours call-out rota. Responsibilities: Take day-to-day ownership of plumbing maintenance and planned work across the Woodcote Park clubhouse, reporting significant issues to the Site Manager. Respond promptly to leaks, loss of water, blocked drains, sanitary failures and other plumbing-related requests, taking immediate action to protect members, colleagues and the building. Inspect, maintain and repair domestic hot- and cold-water pipework, tanks, valves, booster sets, pumps and associated equipment within the scope of the role. Maintain and repair taps, showers, toilets, urinals, basins, sinks, wastes, traps, sanitary fittings and associated controls. Maintain plumbing services serving kitchens, bars, laundries, changing rooms, sports and wet areas, working within personal competence and agreed site procedures. Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks to the required standard and within agreed timescales. Maintain an appropriate stock of common plumbing materials and critical spares and support the ordering and control of replacement parts. Support refurbishment, project, commissioning and snagging activities involving plumbing and associated building services. Coordinate access for specialist plumbing, drainage and water-hygiene contractors and provide site knowledge and oversight where required. Provide a professional, discreet and responsive service in member-facing and operational areas, planning work to minimise disruption. About you: Recognised Level 2 or Level 3 plumbing qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent industry-recognised competence. Substantial post-qualification experience in commercial plumbing maintenance within a large, occupied building or estate. Strong practical knowledge of domestic hot- and cold-water systems, sanitary fittings, drainage, pumps, valves and thermostatic mixing valves. Proven fault-finding ability and competence repairing copper and plastic pipework using appropriate jointing and repair methods. Good understanding of water hygiene, Legionella risk controls and the importance of accurate maintenance records. Ability to identify and safely isolate plumbing systems and respond calmly and effectively to leaks and other emergencies. Read and interpret basic drawings, schematics, manuals and asset information. Practical general-maintenance capability and willingness to support routine building-fabric and maintenance tasks outside the primary plumbing discipline, within personal competence. Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear maintenance reports and recommendations. Comfortable using digital job-management systems, email and basic computer applications. Professional interpersonal skills and the ability to work discreetly in member-facing and operational areas. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider Engineering team. Willingness and ability to participate in the agreed out-of-hours call-out rota.
