We have an exciting opportunity for a Registrar to join the existing Collections, Learning and Research team. Reporting to the Head of Collection Services, the successful applicant will lead the Registrar and Documentation team, manage collection management procedures, balancing risk to the collection with public access.
The successful candidate must have experience in a variety of museum registration tasks, have experience of managing a team, be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.
Hours: 36 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. The role is hybrid task orientated work, with some remote working, some office-based activities and travel to other sites required. The role will predominantly be office-based or hybrid with some presence required in the office.
The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
