We have an exciting opportunity for a Curatorial Assistant to join the existing Firearms and Artillery team working at the National Firearms Centre. Reporting to the Senior Curator of Firearms, the successful applicant will provide curatorial support to the Keeper, Curators and NFC Manager.

The post’s main duties will be in assisting in the day-to-day management of the collections including cataloguing, providing collections access and tours, and assisting with enquiries and exhibitions work. The ideal candidate will have a proven interest in arms and armour. They will be an excellent team player who is hard working, open, thorough, adaptable and engaging.

The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.

Hours: 36 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. The role will be predominantly office based.

The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
