We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Assistant to join the existing Building Services team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful applicant will be able to assist in the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of the buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Perform routine inspections of the facilities and report any issues to the Maintenance Manager.
- Conduct minor repairs, including plumbing, joinery, decorating, minor electrical tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and supplies.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work tickets promptly and efficiently.
- Work alongside external contractors as required.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to accomplish tasks.
- Play a pro‑active role as a team member of the Operations department.
- Provide excellent customer care.
- Identify and report security risks and potential hazards.
- Any other duties as commensurate with the post.
- Participate in training and development as required.
Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self‑motivated with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.
The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
Hours
36 hours / 5 days etc. The role is based at Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, where weekend, evening and bank holiday working will be required. There is also a requirement to be on‑call 1 week out of 3, including weekends.
