We are a 'Good' school (Ofsted, April 2024), where our boarding provision was recently judged as 'Outstanding' (Ofsted, 2025).
The inspectors highlighted that our "students are making significant progress," noting they are "supported through a culture of high expectation, helping them to achieve the best they can." We are a lively and purposeful co‑educational, comprehensive state boarding school for children aged 7 to 18 years, with approximately 700 flexi‑boarders and 300 full boarders.

Role Summary
We are looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs Department and support the learning of our students in the classroom and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support and offer guidance to students both within and outside lessons.
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to ensure effective support strategies.
- Support students in developing independence and self‑confidence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about working with young people.
- Experience working with SEN students is desirable, but not essential for those wishing to gain experience before undertaking initial teacher training.
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening, including an Enhanced DBS check, and to comply with child protection, health and safety and confidentiality procedures.
