Home to world-class cultural institutions including Tate Liverpool and National Museums Liverpool, alongside thriving businesses, hospitality venues, retail outlets and residential communities, the Dock is a unique place where heritage, culture and commerce come together.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Manager to support the Board and play a pivotal role in the day-to-day management and long-term success of the estate. This is a rare opportunity to work at the heart of one of Liverpool's most important destinations, helping to ensure the Dock continues to thrive for tenants, visitors, residents and businesses alike.

About the Role

Reporting to the RADL Board through the Chair, you will be responsible for coordinating operational activity, contract and financial management, stakeholder relationships, governance and communications. You will act as the key link between the Board and operational delivery partners, ensuring that services are delivered effectively while enabling the Board to focus on strategic priorities.

Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Managing relationships with financial and accountancy providers.
    • Monitoring budgets, cash flow and financial reporting.
    • Supporting audits, insurance renewals and procurement activity.
    • Maintaining accurate financial and contract records.
  • Governance and Administration
    • Supporting the Board through agenda preparation, meeting coordination, minutes and action tracking.
    • Managing document control and record-keeping systems.
    • Ensuring robust procurement and contract management processes are in place.
  • Marketing, Events and Stakeholder Relations
    • Managing relationship with external marketing and events partners.
    • Oversee delivery of the annual marketing and events programme.
    • Building strong relationships with tenants, residents, businesses and strategic partners.
  • Strategic Development
    • Supporting delivery of the Board's strategic objectives.
    • Coordinating fundraising and development activities.
    • Working closely with operational partners to ensure successful delivery of events and initiatives across the Dock.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong operational management skills with excellent relationship-building abilities. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in operations, general management, property, leisure, retail or related sectors.
  • A track record of managing contractors, consultants and service providers.
  • Strong financial administration and budget monitoring skills.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
  • Confidence working independently and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparing board papers and reports.
  • Experience of governance, procurement and data management processes.

We would particularly welcome candidates with:

  • Knowledge of place management, destination development, marketing or events.
  • Experience of partnership working across public and private sectors.
  • An understanding of Liverpool and its cultural, business and tourism landscape.
