This is a new role within the Recruit Training School at RAF Halton, Buckinghamshire. As an experienced and qualified counsellor, you will work closely with recruits and staff to help them develop the resilience required to complete training.
Responsibilities
- Provide wellbeing and emotional support through one‑to‑one sessions for recruits dealing with anxiety, low mood or stress.
- Extend the same support to staff when capacity allows.
- Collaborate with the wider RAF Halton team including military training staff, pastoral support staff and on‑site medical staff.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and proactively shape stronger relationships across the RAF team.
- Communicate clearly and confidently, adapting support to a diverse group of trainees ranging from 16 to older ages with families.
