As an RAF Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for the management of RAF assets, from the receipt, storage, handling and distribution of equipment. You play a vital role in the logistical support required by the RAF to fulfil its operational and peacetime obligations. You will be responsible for the distribution, accounting, stock control and data analysis of a diverse range of commodities such as aircraft parts, fuels, explosives, ammunition and many other materials required to support the most technologically advanced aircraft to sustain a modern Air Force.

Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical support for RAF aircraft and vehicles across the globe
  • End‑to‑end management of fuels and lubricants – from pipeline receipts to the refuelling of aircraft
  • Work as part of a team in the storage and warehouse areas, potentially managing secret, explosive or classified RAF assets
  • Travel worldwide supporting operations in challenging locations and ensuring RAF assets are maintained and equipment kept in the UK supply chain

Qualifications

  • Be aged 16 – 47 years old (must attest before the 48th birthday)
  • Meet specific Nationality and Residency criteria
  • Commit to a minimum of 3 years after specialist training

Training and Development

  • Phase 1 – Basic Recruit Training (10 weeks, RAF Halton)
  • Phase 2 – Specialist training (10 weeks, Worthy Down)
  • Phase 3 – First Tour – ongoing as assigned
  • Ongoing training – ongoing as assigned
  • Additional qualifications – offered opportunity to enrol in Level 2 Supply Chain Warehousing Operative Apprenticeship
  • Transferable skills – ongoing development, qualifications valuable in civilian industry

Apprenticeship

Level 2 Supply Chain Warehousing Operative apprenticeship is available. Work activities include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock by various methods, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, maintaining stock records and documentation.
