We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Engineering Technicians (Electrical) at the 100 Civil Engineering Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, United Kingdom. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure optimal resource decisions are made and executed across civil engineer activities and ensure data and information from all shops are applied to the applicable Asset Management Plan and other investment and execution plans. This position will be responsible for managing and executing the Asset Management Plan and/or Sub-Asset Management Plan for the entire installation, whilst integrating and synchronizing Operations Flight works for Sustainment Management Systems data standards, collection, and analysis.

You will integrate and synchronize Operations Flight work force for preventative maintenance, contract project development, review, construction and integration, and warranty management pertaining to respective portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  • You may act as a project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies as required.
  • You may be required to serve on A&E selection boards or construction contract source selection boards.
  • You may be required to serve as a member of the contingency recovery team during exercises and during real world contingencies.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position you must possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering OR one year's specialized experience in a similar field.

  • Knowledge in Asset Management Principles and Practices as it applies to Operations Management and requirements and Optimization activities.
  • Knowledge of CE work control, customer service, operations/maintenance management procedures, and functions and procedures of each type of CE work centers.
  • Knowledge of AFIs, practices, and procedures pertaining to CE operations and ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations, and recommend timely and economical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management and Sustainment Management Systems, system capabilities, economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control, and budget systems; work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds; automated data processing system capabilities; real property management; and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions.
  • Knowledge of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles, and surveying methods, equipment and techniques of measurements to identify project requirements.

Conditions of Employment:

You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. A valid UK category B driving license is also a requirement for this position.
