As an Aircraft Technician Avionics you will keep our aircraft airborne by carrying out maintenance and repair work on the sophisticated electronic and on board avionics.
What will you do?
- Give the pilot real-time access to comprehensive battle-space information, and the ability to share sensor data, and actionable information
- Ensure the high performance of aircraft radar, communication, reconnaissance and target acquisition equipment
- Repair on-board technologies that select, arm and release weapons
- Maintain the systems that generate and distribute electricity on aircraft
- Provide engineering support to aircraft systems that are operated whilst in flight, or provide aircraft engineering support when the aircraft is deployed
- Travel overseas to support RAF aircraft and equipment on operations and exercises
Requirements at a glance
- Be aged 16 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)
- As a minimum, you will need GCSE's at grade C/4 or Scottish National 5's at grade C in English Language, Mathematics and an approved Science / Technology based subject.

- Commit to a minimum 3 years after completion of specialist training
- Pass the Defence Aptitude Assessment
- Pass a fitness test
