We are seeking motivated individuals looking for a new challenge. The individual must hold a current NMC PIN registration and have at least 2 years post registration experience (Candidates may begin the application process at the 12 month point post registration).
All applicants will be expected to demonstrate aptitude for military service and must undertake a 12-week basic Officer military training course at RAF College Cranwell in Lincolnshire, before commencement of nursing employment.
Finally, the individual will hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS and be able to demonstrate an appropriate CV and/or employment history with no issues concerning probity or clinical malpractice pending.
As a Royal Air Force Nursing Officer, you will work in the UK alongside NHS colleagues in secondary care (hospitals, rehabilitation facility) or primary care (military medical centres) trained to show leadership and management skills in a team environment, as well as providing excellent standards of nursing. Alongside this, you will complete your Aeromedical Evacuation (AE) training in order to deploy and work in the aviation environment worldwide.
You will also be offered the opportunity to undertake further nursing sub-specialisation in a variety of clinical specialties including but not limited to Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Primary Care, Trauma Orthopaedics, Burns & Reconstructive Surgery, Infection Prevention and Control, Occupational Health, General Surgery and Medicine, up to Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) level.
You will train for and deploy on operations worldwide, with the RAF and/or other military hospital teams, providing high quality healthcare in diverse, challenging and sometimes austure conditions and environments.
