Overview

The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) has been at the forefront of agricultural education for 180 years and is globally renowned for its links with industry and courses that are designed to meet the demands of the changing land‑based sector. As one of the UK’s smallest universities, we are ideally people‑centred and agile: students and staff alike are names, not numbers. We are pursuing an ambitious strategy to improve the student experience and are looking for someone who can apply that vision to the coordination of student assessments within the wider teaching curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student assessments (e.g., coursework, examinations) and ensure fair and accurate outcomes.
  • Manage the operational provision of student assessment at RAU and its collaborative partners.
  • Lead a small team to guarantee accurate, timely and fair delivery across the assessment lifecycle.
  • Ensure assessment criteria, mark schemes and briefs are correctly allocated against relevant modules.
  • Monitor coursework submissions and maintain deadlines.
  • Liaise with academics on marking.
  • Arrange and oversee formal examinations.

Benefits

The RAU is set in beautiful surroundings and offers a range of staff benefits, including a 35‑hour working week with flexible working arrangements, a generous 30 days annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays (pro‑rata for part‑time posts), pension scheme, free parking on campus, discounted catering facilities, discounted onsite gym, free library services, employee assistance programme, occupational health and counselling services, cycle‑to‑work scheme and staff development opportunities. Further details can be found on our website.
