Part-Time: 21 hours, 3 days per week

Salary range: £43,035 – £50,199 pro-rata inclusive per annum

The Royal Academy of Music is a creative and vibrant workplace with a diverse mix of students and staff from over 60 countries. Integral to the musical training we offer is the opportunity to perform; in an average year, the Academy runs a vibrant programme of around 500 events.  

We are seeking a Piano Technician who will assist in the maintenance and tuning of the Academy’s entire piano stock. Drawing on your experience as a high-quality piano technician and tuner, you will assist the Head of Piano Technical Services in caring for over 150 pianos and the general day-to-day running of the department. This includes tuning, servicing, cleaning, voicing and other tasks expected of a piano technician. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive previous experience in the field of concert work and possess expert technical knowledge of pianos, piano maintenance and tuning with the ability to tune to international concert standards.  You will have excellent communication skills; effectively being able to communicate to students and staff from a wide range of backgrounds and the ability to work well under pressure and as part of a small team.
