As Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering Manager, you will help manage and deliver the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering (QEPrize) – a £500,000 annual prize which celebrates engineering excellence that has worldwide impact for humanity. You will support the work of our community of global experts as they identify the game‑changing engineering innovations which make our world a better place.
Working in collaboration with our colleagues at the Royal Academy of Engineering, you will be central to providing our international judging panel with detailed, complete and peer‑reviewed nominations ensuring a smooth judging process to successfully celebrate engineering visionaries. You will manage QEPrize cycle activities and support the delivery of our flagship events where we recognise the work of our QEPrize Laureates. You will be responsible for partnership management of senior stakeholders across industry, academia, government and more. Situated at the Royal Academy of Engineering in central London, you will work closely with colleagues across the Academy and key partners.
This is a varied manager role – part stakeholder relations and administrator, part researcher. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, effective communicator and stakeholder manager.
This role is for you if you:
- Are comfortable supporting the work of international panels of experts from industry and academia
- Are highly organised and methodical, with meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Have experience in tracking finances, negotiating with suppliers and managing multiple work streams
- Enjoy focused research to brief and inform the stakeholders you manage
- Have a commitment to diversity and inclusion and a conviction that listening to a diverse range of voices results in improved outcomes
