About the role

The Royal Academy of Dance is seeking a reliable, organised, and customer-focused Stock Assistant (Picker & Packer) to join our Mail Order and Retail team.

This position offers 21 hours per week, worked across Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. To accommodate different candidate preferences, we offer flexibility in how this post is contracted - it can be appointed either as a Permanent Part-Time role or as a Casual Worker contract.

In this vital role, you will ensure our customer orders are processed, packed, and dispatched accurately, while supporting shop sales staff to maintain exceptional customer service standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Picking & Packing: Accurately pick customer orders against invoices, pack goods with appropriate shipping documentation and export declarations, and process orders via retail and web systems.

  • Stock Management: Unload deliveries, process supplier orders against delivery notes, replenish stock rooms and the shop floor, and manage stock layout in the stock room and basement.

  • Health & Safety: Maintain all stock rooms in an orderly fashion, strictly adhering to manual handling and risk assessment best practices. (Note: This role involves lifting and moving boxes; full training will be provided).

  • Customer & Administrative Support: Handle phone and email queries from customers regarding existing orders within 24 hours and assist with processing retail transactions during peak periods.

  • General Duties: Participate in bi-annual stock takes and support wider tasks across RAD Enterprises Ltd

What we are looking for

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working in a retail environment and dealing directly with customers.

  • Experience carrying out administrative tasks in a professional working environment.

  • Good oral and written English communication skills (telephone and face-to-face) alongside proficient numeracy skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing and packaging orders.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk.
