About the role
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Assistant to join our People team for a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your HR career, gaining hands‑on experience across the full employee lifecycle in a collaborative and supportive environment.
You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality HR administrative service, supporting recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, payroll administration, and day-to-day people operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the full recruitment and employee life‑cycle process, including posting job adverts, coordinating interviews, managing applications through the HR system, and carrying out pre‑employment checks.
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS, update HR policies and documentation, and ensure all data is handled in line with GDPR requirements.
- Provide administrative support for casual workers and independent contractors by preparing and issuing documentation, maintaining compliance records, and supporting safeguarding requirements.
- Assist with payroll processes by coordinating timesheets, processing payroll data, and responding to related queries.
- Act as a point of contact for People queries, manage shared inboxes and communications, support People projects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department processes.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. You will be a strong communicator with a professional and approachable manner, comfortable handling confidential information with discretion. You will also have good IT skills and an interest in developing a career in HR, with experience using HR systems or databases being an advantage.
