A well-regarded legal practice is recruiting three Paralegals to join its Court of Protection team in Plymouth. No previous paralegal experience is required. This team supports individuals who lack the capacity to manage their own property and financial affairs, helping to ensure clients receive the support they need to have important decisions made in their best interests. It is a role that combines legal work, meaningful client contact and meaningful work from an early stage — and an excellent opportunity to build a legal career within a supportive and highly regarded specialist team.
The Role
Working closely with experienced lawyers and fee earners, you'll help manage a varied caseload and provide practical support to vulnerable clients and their families. Day-to-day work can involve everything from preparing court applications to communicating with banks, care providers and financial institutions on behalf of clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the management of clients' property and financial affairs
- Drafting applications, correspondence, witness statements and Court of Protection documentation
- Liaising with clients, family members, care providers, local authorities and other stakeholders
- Attending client meetings and preparing detailed attendance notes
- Supporting the team with file management and general case administration
