We are currently seeking a sales development representative to join our growing business. Your focus would be working within growing market sectors and focusing from owners through to site contractors. You will have the phone-based selling skills to help grow and drive our new business platform, enabling you to learn and develop yourself into an external sales role within 2 years. Roxtec has created this role in order to provide a pathway into a full technical sales manager role in time after successful completion of training, development and delivery of sales targets and results. It would ideally suit a person wishing to move from a more hands-on role to sales or somebody with internal sales/commercial experience wishing to develop more practical engineering skills with a view to progression into technical sales.
The employee is required to develop new opportunities to specify Roxtec solutions on projects working with owners, engineers and installers in our chosen applications. We want to drive our frontend interactions with key stakeholders. The role will be varied, carrying out specific investigation of projects, contacting and promoting our unique solution offer and account mapping to assist with the business development opportunities for the external technical sales. You will also be responsible to offer advice and support of best installation approach, utilising our range of literature and product guides to help secure a quality installation.
This role will be office-based a minimum of 3 days a week; however, if living outside a commutable distance from the office, full expenses will be paid to cover this.
Office base: Focus on new business development through new and existing customers.
Effectively partner and work with the Marketing team, External Sales team and Internal Technical Support team to develop account intelligence and help define target markets and opportunities:
- Mapping account research
- Scheduling meetings for the outside sales team
- Documenting information and interactions in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Provide pre-sales technical advice and solution guidance
Professional sales experience with preference to those that have a successful record within a phone-based business development role. Experience of working on any of the following would be favourable: power generation, datacentres, onshore oil and gas, rail, pharma or water markets. Knowledge in our target sector, with experience of civil construction, electrical, controls, automation and/or mechanical systems for our chosen markets. Proven ability to manage long-term and complex sales projects to success. Ability to use industry news/project databases/relationships to develop technical sales opportunities. Experience of working with and supporting external sales roles as part of a team. Proven track record of successfully working from home. Successful track record of selling premium solutions within a phone-based selling role. Experience of providing technical support both internally and externally. Ability or desire to pursue a technical sales role in the future. Full UK driving license.
