About the Company - Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £150M and nearly 700 staff. The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster.
About the Role - As part of the MP&L team, the MP&L Planner will support the development and effectivity of the supply chain process from parts supply to finished goods despatch On Time and In Full (OTIF). The MP&L Planner will be co-ordinating the materials and production requirements to ensure on-time build and delivery of product. This role covers both Materials and Production planning areas. The Material Planning role plans, coordinates and expedites the parts and materials from external suppliers to the point of use to support production schedules, and the Production Planning role develops and maintains production schedules and requirements along with all associated Works Order paperwork.
Responsibilities -
- Manage and optimize a supply chain logistics network with specific attention to planning, procuring, and coordinating the movement of products from suppliers to end users.
- Implement and oversee inventory management practices to ensure optimal stock levels, reduce holding costs, and minimize waste through efficient inventory turnover.
- Coordinate with sales and production departments to forecast demand and ensure the availability of products to meet customer needs without overstocking.
- Ensure parts and materials are available to support production plans in all areas of manufacturing and create and maintain supplier schedules and expedite parts and materials.
- Create production schedules and prioritise Works orders for production optimization.
- Release and maintain Works orders and prepare any other documents (PP’s, etc) required for production.
- Complete status reports for production progress, work in process and inventory.
- Interact with the relevant manufacturing manager on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information such as staff availability (Sickness, leave, etc).
- Maintain all planning parameters in the MRP systems to ensure parts and materials are scheduled to include time necessary for internal testing and quality assurance etc. and works orders created correctly to support customer delivery timing.
- Manage changes at both part and project level (NPI) ensuring systems are correctly updated, parts ordered, and production activities planned as required.
- Support development programmes as required by the business.
- Provide accurate and timely management reporting of KPIs.
- Continually seek improvements relative to inventory and supply, ensuring data accuracy and make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve methods.
- Ensure Health and Safety standards for all incoming materials are fully communicated and understood.
- Additional responsibilities and projects as required by the business.
Qualifications -
Essential Qualifications - A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at level 4 or above (must include Maths & English). Have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Required Skills - Very strong proven knowledge of using and developing MRP. Previous experience working with TROPOS would be an advantage. Extensive experience of working in a planning function.
Preferred Skills - Have previous experience of providing a positive contribution in driving change. Continuous improvement; analysing the causes of concerns and developing countermeasures to root causes.
