Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for over 35 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues. Located in Shippensburg, PA, our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or DON. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and documenting patient condition and interventions provided, reporting findings to the unit Charge Nurse/RN.
- Monitoring Nursing and Clinical Care plans and participating in Treatment Team meetings as necessary.
- Providing supportive counseling and patient education.
- Facilitating medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
- Responding to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.
