Sustainability at Valeo isn't a side agenda - it's a core part of how we operate, innovate and grow. We're looking for a Sustainability Project Engineer to play a key role in delivering our climate and environmental ambitions across the Group. This is a hands‑on project‑focused role, working across multiple manufacturing sites and markets to identify, develop and implement sustainability initiatives that create measurable impact.
You’ll be at the heart of our environmental agenda, supporting projects that improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, optimise water usage and minimise waste. Working closely with site teams and functional stakeholders, you’ll help turn sustainability commitments into practical solutions that deliver tangible results. This role is about engineering change and driving delivery.
You’ll support the development and execution of sustainability projects across our operations, helping sites identify opportunities, build business cases and implement improvements that enhance both environmental performance and operational efficiency. You’ll also work closely with Group Sustainability, Operations, Engineering and Procurement teams to ensure projects align with wider business objectives and sustainability targets.
In practice, that means you’ll:
- Support the delivery of decarbonisation and resource‑efficiency projects across our manufacturing sites, including capital investment programmes
- Identify opportunities to reduce energy, water and waste consumption through engineering and process improvements
- Assist with the implementation of renewable energy projects and low‑carbon technologies
- Work alongside Procurement and suppliers to support sustainability initiatives, including packaging and Scope 3 improvement projects
- Contribute to sustainability assessments and integration activities for new acquisitions
- Collect, analyse and interpret environmental performance data to track progress against targets
- Develop project plans, business cases and performance reports to support investment decisions
- Collaborate with site engineering and operations teams to embed sustainable practices into day‑to‑day activities
- Support Group sustainability reporting requirements and data submissions, including ESRS, TCFD, EcoVadis and the annual Sustainability Report
Qualifications
You’ll likely bring a mix of technical understanding and real‑world delivery experience:
- A background in engineering, operations, sustainability, or a related field
- Experience as Project Engineer in a similar environment
- Experience working in manufacturing or FMCG environments
- A track record of delivering environmental or continuous improvement projects across multiple sites
- Strong organisation and stakeholder management skills (you’re comfortable working across functions and geographies)
