Rowley Clinical Neuropsychology Services (RCNS) was founded to meet the need for high quality, evidence-based and client-centred clinical neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation services. We work with adults, children and young people with acquired brain injury or other neurological conditions, and their families. We are instructed by case managers, solicitors, and private individuals and the vast majority of our work is done in the context of ongoing medico-legal claims. We can accept instructions for both treating clinician and expert witness work. We provide clinical neuropsychology in Yorkshire, the North East, and the East Midlands.
Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Neuropsychologist to work as a self-employed Associate to the business. You would manage your own time and have full control over the number and type of RCNS cases you take with us and would be paid an agreed, competitive, hourly rate for your clinical and travel time. We assess and treat severely injured clients in the community, usually as part of a comprehensive and skilled neurorehabilitation MDT. Most of our patients are involved in ongoing litigation regarding their injuries.
Responsibilities of the role would include conducting neuropsychological assessments to an exceptionally high standard, detailing your findings clearly in detailed reports, providing psychotherapy and neuropsychological interventions more generally to patients, families and carers, providing clinical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, and conducing complex capacity assessments (such as related to finances, litigation, accommodation, care and support, contact, sex, and others). Additional tasks at your discretion involve supporting with RCNS business development and project related activities, such as preparing and delivering outreach presentations, pathway development, marketing, and so on.

Person Specification
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner (Clinical) Psychologist
- 1-2 years minimum experience in a ward based, community neuro or outpatient neuropsychology setting
- Ideally, has commenced or completed the pathway for QiCN / SRCN status (via the knowledge and practice dimensions)
- Strong understanding of diagnostic and treatment issues in acquired (particularly traumatic) brain injury
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and diplomacy
- Enthusiasm about working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
