Company: Our client is an SME on an exciting growth journey. They supply mainly to the Defence sector and are recruiting a senior commercial manager to be both hands-on and a commercial leader.

Role: You will be responsible for all things commercial: pre and post contract, customer and supplier facing as well as establishing processes and best practice ways of working. This is a pacey, entrepreneurial company and the ability to thrive in such an environment is essential. Working with sales and finance colleagues, you will lead on customer negotiations, including terms and conditions and commercials, often dealing with large prime contractors. You will develop excellent relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer who wants this individual to come in and make the role their own.

Experience: You will have significant experience in a commercial contract management position. Defence or IT sector experience would be helpful, although all backgrounds will be considered. You will probably have worked for a large company with extensive processes and policies and sizeable commercial teams but you will be able to apply all of that experience and know-how to a small company such as this where for the first year or so it is likely that you will be a commercial department of one. This role will require SC clearance. It is possible, although unlikely, that DV clearance may be requested.

Location and Travel: Hybrid role with 1 day travel per week to the Hampshire area. Compressed hours and 4 days per week working patterns will be considered equally alongside a standard 5 day week.

Salary: £80-£90K + package. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a sales or account management role. Please only apply for this role if you have significant experience of managing commercial contracts.
