Rowles Recruitment are excited to be supporting a brand-new client based in High Wycombe with the appointment of an Operations & Commercial Manager. A hands-on, pivotal position within a well-established UK business operating in a technical B2B environment. The successful candidate will play a central role in keeping the business running smoothly day to day, while supporting commercial activity and enabling the Managing Director to focus on growth and strategy.
This is a high-trust “Number Two” role with real influence and responsibility. As the Commercial Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operational and commercial performance of the UK business working closely with the Managing Director. You will manage a small internal team, ensuring efficient processes, strong customer responsiveness, and commercial discipline.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
- Pension
- 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

Duties and Responsibilities
Operations and Office Management
- Overseeing daily operations of the UK office
- Managing and supporting a small internal team
- Quotations and marketing activity
- Ensuring workflows are efficient, well-prioritised, and customer-focused
- Identifying and improving processes across quoting, order handling, and CRM usage
- Supporting the sales function through:
- Reviewing and approving quotations
- Assisting with pricing strategy and margin control
- Following up key opportunities and accounts
- Acting as a commercial sounding board to the Managing Director
- Liaising with key customers where required, including contractors, wholesalers, and panel builders
Financial & Business Support
- Monitoring sales performance, margins, and operational costs
- Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Ensuring commercial compliance with group policies while maintaining UK agility
Leadership & Cover
- Deputising for the Managing Director when required
- Taking ownership of daily decision-making to free up senior leadership capacity
- Providing stability, structure, and continuity within a small-team environment
You will be:
- Someone who is practical, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in a small business where roles naturally overlap
- Proven background in operations, commercial management, or sales support within B2B Sector
- Strong understanding of quoting, pricing, and margin control
- Experience supervising or supporting a small team
- Highly organised, structured, and confident in taking responsibility
- Strong communicator with customers and internal stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions
- Technical understanding of electrical products or distribution systems
- CRM or ERP system experience
- Experience acting as a “number two” or deputy in a small or growing business
