We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic / Driver to join our dedicated maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), including lorries and trailers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of mechanical and electrical skills in a busy operational environment. Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on HGVs, including lorries and trailers.
  • Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical experience to identify issues accurately.
  • Perform repairs involving welding, fabrication, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Repair or replace mechanical components such as brakes, engines, transmissions, and suspension systems.
  • Carry out electrical repairs and wiring using schematics and electrical knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out in compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Experience
  • Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle maintenance role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and electrical diagrams.
  • Skilled in welding, soldering, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
