We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic / Driver to join our dedicated maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), including lorries and trailers. Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on HGVs, including lorries and trailers.
  • Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical experience to identify issues accurately.
  • Perform repairs involving welding, fabrication, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Repair or replace mechanical components such as brakes, engines, transmissions, and suspension systems.
  • Carry out electrical repairs and wiring using schematics and electrical knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out in compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Experience
  • Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle maintenance role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and electrical diagrams.
  • Skilled in welding, soldering, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
