About the Role
Rowlands Pharmacy is seeking a talented and experienced Relief Pharmacist to support our hospital pharmacy services across Region 10. As a Relief Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of high quality pharmacy services across multiple hospital locations within the region. Covering planned leave, absences, and periods of high demand, you will provide essential support to maintain safe, efficient, and patient focused care at all times. This flexibility is crucial to Rowlands Pharmacy, enabling us to consistently deliver outstanding healthcare services, uphold our professional standards, and meet the needs of both patients and healthcare partners without disruption. Your adaptability and expertise will make a direct impact on patient outcomes and the overall success of our pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards
- Provide expert advice, counselling, and support to patients on medication use and health concerns
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals (including doctors, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams) to optimise patient outcomes
- Conduct medication reviews and support safe, effective medicines management
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective stock and inventory control
- Deliver immunisation services (where applicable)
- Provide guidance on over‑the‑counter medicines and general healthcare
- Contribute to health promotion and public health initiatives

- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
