The Role
A specialty chemicals business is looking for an Analytical Chemistry Lead to manage their laboratory operations. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you’ll lead a small team, ensure ISO9001 compliance, and deliver high-quality analytical support to production and R&D.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day Analytical laboratory operations and prioritise workload
- Mentor and develop QC Analysts
- Perform and oversee analysis (GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF, titrations)
- Review data, ensure accuracy, and maintain ERP records
- Develop and validate analytical methods
- Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment
- Support audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement
About You
- Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent experience)
- Strong hands-on analytical experience (GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF)
- Experience in analytical troubleshooting
- Background in manufacturing (chemicals/pharma preferred)
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and QC systems
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
