We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Rowe Vets, Thornbury on a part‑time basis for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave. Rowe Vets, Thornbury is a well‑equipped, friendly 3‑vet practice that forms part of the wider Rowe Veterinary Group network, including access to a busy 24‑hour hospital. This provides a great balance of first opinion practice work alongside the opportunity to gain experience within a higher caseload hospital environment. You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team that is committed to delivering high standards of patient and client care, with access to excellent facilities and a wider network of clinical support.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, while also supporting the hospital team during weekend shifts. This provides a varied role with exposure to both general practice and a busier hospital environment. This is a part‑time role working 25.3 hours per week across Monday (8:00am-5:00pm), Thursday (9:00am-6:00pm), and Friday (8:00am-5:00pm), with participation in a 1 in 6 full weekend rota at Bradley Stoke Hospital (7:30am-4:30pm). Weekend work includes one day off in lieu and one day paid.
General responsibilities include:
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
- Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
- Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations
