We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Rowe Veterinary Referrals on a part‑time basis. Rowe Veterinary Referrals is a long‑standing, multidisciplinary referral hospital based in North Bristol, offering expertise across soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, neurology, cardiology, dentistry, behaviour, and diagnostic imaging. Our hospital is equipped with advanced facilities including MRI, CT, endoscopy, ultrasonography, an on‑site laboratory, and specialist ophthalmology equipment. You’ll be working alongside a highly experienced team of clinicians, RVNs, and support staff, gaining exposure to a varied and complex caseload within a true referral setting.
As a Referral Nurse, you will deliver advanced nursing care to complex cases within a referral hospital environment, supporting patients, clients, and clinical teams across a range of disciplines. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to high standards of nursing care, supporting clinical decision‑making, and sharing your experience and knowledge with colleagues to continually improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
This is a varied role where you will rotate through theatre, anaesthesia, and ward‑based shifts, working across departments including soft tissue, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, neurology, cardiology, dentistry, and diagnostic imaging. This provides an excellent opportunity to develop a broad and advanced skillset within a specialist environment.
This is a part‑time role working 34.5 hours per week, with shifts typically between 8:00am and 6:00pm. There is an on‑call rota of 1 in 5 (one weeknight and a weekend), with additional overtime pay provided.
General responsibilities include:
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied referral caseload
- Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
- Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
- Work collaboratively across multiple specialist disciplines within the hospital
