We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team at Rowden Technologies. As a pivotal part of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our infrastructure and deployments to support our innovative modular information systems. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
While this role offers hybrid working options, it requires a minimum of 3 days per week on-site at our Bristol HQ with occasional travel to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, and management of cloud-based infrastructure on AWS using Terraform and Python
- Monitoring and ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of applications
- Implementing security best practices and maintaining compliance with industry standards
- Collaborating with development teams to integrate DevOps methodologies into the development lifecycle
- Providing technical guidance and support in the adoption of DevOps practices
Key skills, experience and behaviours
- Proficient experience in AWS or Azure services and architecture
- Experience in using Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) management
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools
- Understanding of Docker and containerization technologies
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
In addition, any/or all of following are considered highly desirable:
- AWS Landing Zone experience
- Experience implementing IDAM and associated security controls
- AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) experience
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation
- Familiarity with additional cloud services and technologies
About you
- Planning complex architectures at both a broad and detailed level
- Explaining those plans to business stakeholders of varying technical levels
- Taking complete ownership of architecture designs in a highly secure environment
- Providing clear documentation and architecture diagrams, plus surrounding governance documents
- Presenting and knowledge sharing skills, using whiteboards and other tools, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organisations
