Make your work count! Could you be our next kitchen and operations assistant?
Are you practical, reliable, and looking for a role where your work really makes a difference? Would you enjoy being part of a passionate team preparing and dispatching handmade frozen meals for customers across South Devon?
If so, Devon Farm Kitchen could be the perfect fit for you. We’re a successful social enterprise supporting Rowcroft Hospice, delivering delicious meals while helping fund vital end-of-life care. We’re now looking for a Kitchen and Operations Assistant to help us in our mission — someone who can support our kitchen team, keep operations running smoothly, and help ensure every meal reaches our customers with care and efficiency.
As a Kitchen and Operations Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in the daily running of our kitchen and dispatch areas.
What you\’ll bring?
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a hands-on team player who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety. You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a small, supportive team and can follow instructions with accuracy and care. The role is physically active, so you should be comfortable with manual handling and moving between the kitchen, freezer, and storage areas throughout the day.
A positive, can-do attitude is essential, and you should be happy to turn your hand to a range of tasks — from cleaning and packaging meals to picking orders and supporting deliveries. A full UK driving licence is required for delivery duties, and while previous experience in a kitchen, food production, or dispatch environment is helpful, it’s not essential. What matters most is your reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
What’s in it for you?
At Devon Farm Kitchen, you’ll do more than just turn up for a shift — you’ll play an important role in a business that gives back to the community. You\’ll be welcomed into a friendly, values-driven team that cares about its people and takes pride in its work. We offer a supportive and inclusive working environment where your contribution is recognised, and where you’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills. It’s a busy and sometimes challenging role, but you’ll be part of something with real purpose — and that’s what makes the work truly rewarding.
