Join Our Team as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant! Rowan Gate School is excited to recruit several Level 2 Teaching Assistants across our sites. We’re looking for passionate, like-minded individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are recruiting for two full time Level 2 Teaching Assistants. One will be based at our Wellingborough site and the second at our East (Hayway) site. The roles are permanent, part-time contracts, working 39 weeks including 5 training days. The hours of work are 33.75 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.

Working pattern is as below:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:40 am – 3:30 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:40 am – 5:00 pm (staff training 3:30–5:00 pm)
  • Thursday: 8:40 am – 4:00 pm (staff class time 3:30–4:00 pm)

We are also looking to recruit part time roles across our other sites, namely Tennyson Road, Wilby and Wellingborough. Days can be discussed at the interview stage. Please add details of your preferred days when completing your application form. However, please note that although the days can be negotiated, the start and end times of the days must be met.

What you’ll do:

  • Support pupils in both social and academic aspects of school life.
  • Help children become independent learners and raise achievement standards.
  • Provide care and welfare for all pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other assistants to create a positive learning environment.

What we’re looking for:

  • A good general education (GCSE Grade 4‑9 or equivalent in English and Maths).
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Ideally, experience supporting children with SEN—but we also welcome applicants from the care sector or those starting a career in education.

Whilst you will be allocated to a particular site, if successful you will be employed by Rowan Gate Primary School and therefore you may need to work at alternative sites or travel between sites as needed. Rowan Gate is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of the pupils in its care. All applicants should hold or be willing to undergo a DBS Enhanced Disclosure. Appointments will also be subject to confirmation of right to work, satisfactory health clearance, satisfactory references from previous employers, in addition to other clearance checks. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, we are also required to carry out online searches for all successfully shortlisted candidates.
